Karen Rabenau concentrates her practice on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and business litigation. Karen joined Twiggs Strickland & Rabenau in 1992 after graduation from UNC Law School, and over the past twenty-four years, has successfully represented clients in civil cases in state and federal courts and before arbitration panels. Karen has an AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5.0 Rating in Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating available. Karen is listed as a North Carolina Super Lawyers and is also recognized in Best Lawyers in America.
Karen currently chairs the Litigation Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association, after serving for four years as Ethics Co-Chair and also as Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Karen has served on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and for two years as Chair of the Medico?Legal Liaison Committee for the North Carolina Bar Association. Karen also speaks to physician groups across North Carolina about legal topics. In the community, Karen serves on the board of Caring House, and as a board trustee for a local independent school.
While at UNC Law School, Karen was one of two students in her second year class to be chosen as a member of the Holderness Moot Court National Team. During her undergraduate studies at Hollins College, Karen was a Hollins Scholar and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Karen and her husband and children enjoy the outdoors, and she is an avid runner and gardener.
